The 2017-18 Signature Theatre Season will feature plays by three Pulitzer Prize-winners and the New York premiere of a play by one of its new Residency Five playwrights, the company announced today.

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the second production of the Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2017 now in its 19th season.

Cleveland Play House's Outcalt Theatre will be transformed into the rent-controlled apartment of ex-cop Walter 'Pops' Washington in the bold, fresh, and unfiltered work of renowned playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. Packed with irreverent humor, lightning-quick dialogue, and tremendous heart, Between Riverside and Crazy is the Pulitzer Prize-winning dark comedy about family, pride, and redemption.

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is receiving a rare New York revival this spring at The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa (66 East 4th Street) with previews beginning tonight, March 9th, 2017 for a limited Off-Broadway engagement through March 26th. Opening Night is set for Monday, March 13, 2017 at 7pm.

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the second production of the Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2017 now in its 19th season. Nathan Yungerberg's ESAI'S TABLE, will be presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St.) from March 22 - April 1, 2017, it has been announced by Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero, MENTOR PROJECT's Producing Artistic Directors. Angelina Fiordellisi is Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director.

Four award-winning playwrights will join the residency programs at Signature Theatre, the company announced today.

On Tuesday, April 5th, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) presented 'An Evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis,' author of the hit Broadway play The Motherf***er with the Hat, which featured a reading of excerpts from several of his plays, a discussion, and signing of his newly published play, Between Riverside and Crazy, for which he received the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, at the Drama Book Shop in New York, now celebrating its 99th year. Theatre Ventures has just announced that 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY) will write a new play based on the Oscar®-winning motion picture DOG DAY AFTERNOON.  Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures is developing the play for a Broadway bow to follow their successful production of Oscar® winner William Goldman's adaptation of MISERY starring Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf.

Frances Black Projects in association with CAP21 proudly presents Commedia dell'Artichoke, a new comedy about love, dreams, pizza and trying to make it in New York. This production, a contemporary take on commedia dell'arte - the classic Italian style of theatre with masked actors performing a blend of scripted and improvised comedic scenarios - plays January 15 - February 6 at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Bowery and Lafayette).
